Every time you push yourself on a deep dive, unbuckle your weight belt and hold the lose end. If you black out your weights fall off and you become buoyant. This will greatly increase your chances of rescue and survival. I have a clip on my belt for attaching to my float line so I can recover my belt if I jettison it. It’s like having an ejection seat.

You are laky man. Everything you did was wrong. First you did the deadly technic of hyperventilation and then you didn't have a direct communication by thatching hands with someone having an agreement after the two or three minutes and give a light press every 10 or 15 seconds. It's an easy way for the person who takes care of you knowing that you have your conscious.
